BASIC METALSMITHING

Description: This class is designed to teach students the foundations of metalsmithing -- sawing, piercing, filing, joining metals with simple cold connections, and introduce basic soldering.
Discussions will include the addition of design elements, wearability, stamping to add interest, methods of adding movement, and basic stone setting using bezels.
Projects will be assigned for a basic pendant, earrings, and a ring, so that students will take home wearable pieces by the end of classes. If time allows, additional projects may be made available.
Note: This class is a beginners class that will involve soldering as well as the use of some chemicals.
