Description: Discover the colorful world of vitreous enameling! A former artist-in-residence at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Karin will teach you all the basics to get you started enameling. From preparing your metal to firing your finished work, she will take you through each step of the enameling process in this two day workshop. Students will complete several pieces in this class while learning the techniques of stenciling and sgraffito. Enameling is a media that can be applied to a wide variety of applications; from creating jewelry to making large scale murals. You will go home equipped with all the knowledge you need to start enameling on your own.
